Religious Education Update

September 8, 2024 1:00 pm

A Message from the Religious Education Director: “As our new 2024/2025 school year begins, I would like to take this time to thank you parents for your commitment to your child’s religious education. Parents, you are the first and primary teachers of the Faith. And while our catechists are here to assist you however necessary, your example to your children is vital to the salvation of their souls. Please continue to pray with them throughout the year. Practice the Faith at home. And most importantly, attend Mass weekly with your children. We are looking forward to having your children attend our RE program here at St. Joseph in Rockdale this school year.

REGISTRATION: The scheduled registration period for the 2024/2025 school year has ended. But, if for any reason you were unable to register your student(s) you may still register them during office hours. Please register as soon as possible. Late registrations cause undue hardship on office staff and may impact your children’s religious education. Classes started on September 4th for 6th – Pre-Confirmation (9th grade), FC-I, and FC-II. Classes started on September 8th for K – 5th and Sacramental Prep for older students. If your child (or children) have missed years of religious education they will be assigned into special classes (FC-I or FC-II) to catch up on the subject matter they have missed; this is why it is so important to get them registered as soon as possible, so they can be placed in the appropriate class.

Religious Education is for K – 12th grades. Please click below for more detailed information to see information on the current year:

Religious Education is always in need of volunteers. Please consider dedicating some of your time for this worthy cause of Catholic education of the youth of our parish.
